Featured Therapist
Delta Shuman, LPC, CST, CPTT, is a trauma-informed psychotherapist, couples therapist, and certified coach specializing in complex trauma, relational healing, betrayal trauma, and high-conflict relational systems. She is certified in Trauma Stress Studies by Dr. Bessel van der Kolk and Joseph Spinazzola, and is a Certified Partner Trauma Therapist (CPTT) with advanced specialization in working with partners and couples impacted by problematic sexual behaviors and relational betrayal.
Delta is widely recognized for her work in conjoint therapy protocols, an integrative approach that combines individual and relational treatment to help couples heal attachment injuries, relational PTSD, and longstanding trauma dynamics within the context of the relationship itself. Her work focuses on helping individuals and couples develop emotional wisdom, self-regulation, differentiation, and the capacity to become emotionally safe within themselves and with one another.
Her clinical training includes extensive training by The Meadows and the post-induction trauma model developed by Pia Mellody. She is additionally trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Brainspotting, and Couples Brainspotting, integrating somatic, neurobiological, attachment-based, and experiential approaches to trauma resolution.
Clients often describe Delta’s work as transformative, helping them achieve what once felt unimaginable in reconciling their trauma histories, rebuilding trust, and creating healthier relational patterns. Her approach is warm, direct, deeply attuned, and grounded in both evidence-based practice and lived relational repair.
Delta is currently a PhD candidate and is preparing an upcoming published work on conjoint therapy — a model designed to help other therapists working with couples with high conflict and elevated PTSD responses rewrite relational patterns and restore connection through structured, trauma-informed relational healing for the couple dynamic.
