As a trauma and addiction specialist, I am trained in EMDR Therapy which according to the World Health Organization (WHO), the American Psychiatric Association (APA) and Department of Defense (DOD) is a highly effective therapy for the treatment of trauma and PTSD. I have also trained extensively with Pia Mellody, Senior Clinical Advisor at The Meadows Treatment Center on the Post-Induction Therapy (PIT) model. The PIT model focuses on the treatment of childhood trauma (physical and / or sexual) and childhood relational trauma (defined as anything less than nurturing by primary caregivers). Integrating trauma treatment with addiction treatment has revolutionized clients’ ability to make significant and permanent changes in their healing journey. Clients whom have a trauma history without any addictions will obviously also benefit from these two models of trauma therapy.

In addition to my clinical work, as one of the few CSAT Supervisors in Canada, I assist new CSAT candidates in administration and interpretation of testing instruments, treatment planning, and application of the task model, including materials and interventions.

Equally important as my credentials is my ability to build a strong alliance with my clients. I am an empathetic listener with a keen understanding of the issues you and your family are likely facing. My experience in the addiction field will go to work for you! 

In addition to working with addicts, I am also the only trained and licensed provider in Toronto for administering and interpreting the Abel Assessment which is used in the evaluation of child sex offenders.
