Often, some of my clients have come from families that have experienced some trauma. In response to these clients, I have become increasingly adept at helping them resolve family of origin trauma, utilizing Pia Mellody's model.

My preferred method of treatment is solution oriented brief therapy. Brief therapy is short term; goals are usually accomplished in a limited number of sessions. I focus on solutions problems and encourage clients to focus on doing more of what works and less of what doesn't.

To further assist those who have experienced trauma, I've also incorporated the model of Pia Mellody. I have training in her techniques that effectively assist clients in resolving childhood traumas that impact their current adult relationships.

I offer the Couples' Boundary workshop (from the work of Pia Mellody) to those clients with childhood woundings that are constraining their adult their unions. This boundary workshop is designed specifically for couples to assist them in "living less in reaction" and communicate more effectively. To quote Pia Mellody, the Couples' Boundary Workshop will help couples speak to be known and listen with curiosity.

I am also trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) Level 1 and 2. As well, I have training in a variety of cognitive therapies (e.g. Emotional Focused Therapy) that are often effective in helping individuals and couples become unstuck.
