Michael is a Licensed Certified Social Worker specializing in individual and couples therapy, and maintains a private practice in Hot Springs, Arkansas with an emphasis in trauma therapy using EMDR and Pia Mellody's treatment model similar to what is used at the Meadows treatment center in Wickenburg, Arizona.

Michael is an interactive, solution-focused therapist. His therapeutic approach is to provide support and practical feedback to help clients effectively address personal life challenges. He integrates complementary methodologies and techniques to offer a highly personalized approach tailored to each client. With compassion and understanding, he works with each individual to help them build on their strengths and attain the personal growth they are committed to accomplishing.

While Michael is a former pastor, he never starts a new client relationship assuming that someone wants a Christian solution to their problems. 

While some therapists and counselors offer Christian counseling or therapy, we recognize that even within the Christian community, many theological differences exist when it comes to the problems that lead people into our office. Therefore, we do not believe that even from a Christian perspective, that “one size” of therapy or counseling “fits all.”

Thus, unless someone specifically requests their therapy or counseling be done from a Christian or Biblical viewpoint, we do not approach it as such. If however, that is something you’d like, please let us know when scheduling your initial appointment and we will make sure to take this into consideration.
